Camp News
Washington, DC and Greensboro, NC
October 11th, 2010
Yates continued to travel north to visit with all of the boys and their families from the greater Washington, DC area. Allison and Jim Portnoy hosted the event on Wednesday, October 6, in the District and there was a good mix of returning campers and new families.
Chase Burgess, a staff member at FCC in 2007, and a cousin of the Portnoy’s, was also at the show. Chase is currently working as an intern for Congressman Spencer Bachus. Chase said he enjoys living in this exciting city.
The Portnoy boys will return to camp this coming summer and were great hosts with their parents.
Falling Creek Camp Reunion and Movie Show in Washington DC on 10-6-10Yates then drove south, back toward camp, to visit the Greensboro, NC, area on Thursday, October 7. Mary and Scott Hale were hosts to several returning camper families that were excellent ambassadors for Yates in answering questions from the new families who came to the movie show to learn more about Falling Creek Camp.
Wesley Farnam and Allison Hogshead, both FCC staff members this past summer, took time out of their busy college schedule at nearby High Point University to come see the families. They had the chance to speak with parents about their roles as counselors at camp. The Hale’s oldest son will return to camp this coming summer and looks forward to building his camp friendships.
Falling Creek Camp Reunion and Movie Show in Greensboro NC on 10-7-10Thanks to both the Portnoy’s and the Hale’s for their wonderful hospitality in hosting the Falling Creek Camp Reunion and Movie Show!
